The Luxury Network Nigeria Unveils a Bold New Era at BusinessDay Luxury Conference 2026
17th March 2026
At the highly anticipated BusinessDay Luxury Conference 2026, hosted on Wednesday, March 11, industry leaders, visionaries and connoisseurs gathered under the theme “Luxury Reimagined: Power, Purpose, and Prestige” to chart the future of the high-end market. The event’s centerpiece was a provocative keynote address by Ambassador Dr. Samuel Abiola-Jacobs, Managing Director of The Luxury Network Nigeria, who challenged long-standing industry dogmas.

In his address, Dr. Abiola-Jacobs declared that the traditional era of exclusive luxury, defined solely by price, rarity or heritage is undergoing a radical transformation. He presented that luxury is now being defined by cultural relevance, sustainability credibility, experiential immersion, emotional resonance and ecosystem intelligence.
The Ambassador led everyone to understand that luxury has gone far beyond possessions and has become more about access, connections, and the curated experiences that define a lifestyle of distinction. True luxury has gone from being about objects and material things and has successfully transcended moments, spaces, and people, focusing more on how they make us feel, and the exclusivity they represent.
Speaking of true luxury, Dr Abiola-Jacobs stated that “visibility may create attention, but depth creates legacy.” This depth is heavily represented in the high quality of curated experiences brands have to offer.

Key Highlights from the Conference:
- A New Definition of Prestige: The keynote emphasized that “Power” in the modern context is the ability to choose what resonates personally, rather than following traditional status symbols.
- Luxury with Purpose: Panel discussions explored the intersection of sustainability and identity, echoing Dr. Abiola-Jacobs’ call for brands to offer meaningful value beyond physical products.
- Industry Collaboration: Hosted by BusinessDay Media with The Luxury Network Nigeria as technical partners, the conference brought together figures from Eko Hotel & Suites, FCMB Group, Johnnie Walker, Yenwa Gallery, Palton Morgan Holdings and others to discuss how Nigerian luxury can lead on the global stage.
The conference concluded with the consensus that the future of luxury lies in its ability to be inclusive of diverse personal values while maintaining the high standards of excellence the industry is known for.
