The Italian Cuisine Week in Doha Supported by TLN Qatar

The much-awaited ‘Italian Cuisine Week’ was slated to start on November 21st in which an ‘Italian Supreme Menu’ was be offered by five prime Italian restaurants in Qatar.

The Italian Embassy in Qatar, in cooperation with the Italian Chamber of Commerce and The Luxury Network, have scheduled a rich programme for this special week. Mercato Antico, La Veranda, Nonna Zanon, Antica Pesa Doha, and Italia Mia offered a supreme menu of special Italian dishes throughout the week.

The opening night took place at The Westin Doha Hotel & Spa and the cultural event of Italian cuisine took place at the Katara Cultural Village. The opening ceremony welcomed 300 guests. Everyone were delighted for Qatar Airways to conduct a raffle draw during the opening event wherein two complimentary tickets were offered to any destination in Italy.

Talking to the media during the press conference, Italian Ambassador H.E. Guido De Sanctis, said: “In the past four years, the number of Italian Restaurants have increased in Qatar and food imports from Italy to Qatar have also witnessed remarkable increase.” He said Italy was exporting food items worth 37 million Euros around the world.

“Italian food is probably as famous as Italy’s artistic and historical treasures and we are proud to celebrate our heritage in Qatar and internationally, as everyone shares a passion for food of Italy,” he further said.

Chairperson of the Italian Chamber, Ms. Palma Libotte, said: “By promoting the event on social media we have reached 45,000 people following the pages, and gained 2,000 followers in two days.”

“The cooperative interaction of our partners at this event has produced amazing results, allowing us to create an unforgettable Italian experience like never before seen in Qatar,” she further added.

“Italian fine-dining is a significant division of the luxury culinary sector in Qatar. Considering The Luxury Network as a renowned gateway for luxury brands globally, we are delighted to support the Italian Embassy on this international event. This certainly gives us the opportunity to connect with the strongest affinity marketing platforms worldwide,” stated Mr. Fares Ghattas, Global CEO of The Luxury Network.
