The Luxury Network Germany Exclusive VIP Champagne Trip
26th July 2018Based on last year’s overwhelming success and the strictly limited number of participants for this outstanding “Money can’t buy“ weekend experience, The Luxury Network organized with their members Vranken-Pommery, Dörr Group, NESPRESSO and art of travel for more top clients another exclusive outing to Champagne.
On the morning of July 6, our group of like-minded connoisseurs and super-sports car owners came together in the heart of the Palatinate vineyards. Starting point of this trip was the renowned winery “Holz-Weisbrodt”, where after a first big “Hello” on the terrace “Artrium” a late breakfast was served for our private circle. Thereafter we received some interesting insight views into the barrique vinification of the property, including a private tour of the impressing ultramodern designed cellars.
Fortified and inspired by those first impressions, the prepared road books were deployed in a short briefing and snacks and goodie bags stowed away, before the guided convoy of luxury motorcars went on tour in fantastic weather towards Germany’s Southwest and with a direction to France. The final destination was Reims and the Domaine Pommery, one of the most stunning properties in the Champagne.
The first stage of the journey took us to the picturesque wine route and the South Palatinate to Alsace, where our illustrious crowd checked in during the afternoon at the stylish Hotel & Spa “La Source des Sens”. Here, at the foot of the Vosges, one could let their mind go and relax by the pool and spa area or opt for a shot with one of the accompanying McLaren 720S or McLaren 570S in the idyllic surroundings. All participants were then looking forward to a culinary journey, which after the “Bienvenue” champagne reception in the gardens of “La Source des Sens”, was served by the very talented chef and owner Pierre Weller in 7 (Michelin start quality!) delicious courses. At the latest now every guest was in heaven on earth. This experience was rounded off by a Nespresso Master Class, which was presented by a famous barista who expressively travelled to France to share with us his valuable insight knowledge of the world’s best coffees. Naturally tasting included!
After a relaxing night and a most enjoyable breakfast which fulfilled all wishes, our convoy continued in the best frame of mind his way to the Champagne and the famous Domaine Pommery.
At the arrival of this concentrated horsepower around midday, just like magic the impressive gate of the Domaine opened to welcome the VIP guests as the main hosts.
In line with French lifestyle our “VIP Pommery Experience” then was kicked-off by an extensive lunch and – of course – accompanied by champagne, followed by a private tour of the cellars. Here we could also admire a collection of temporary art that makes some museums jealous.
A short shuttle transfer took our already friendly connected group to our hotel, where everybody got ready for the upcoming big Farewell dinner in the legendary Villa Demoiselle.
As a final highlight, the Villa Demoiselle captivated us for a glamourous evening in closed circle. In style we enjoyed during the cocktail hour flowing champagne from Magnum bottles, while walking in privacy through the mansions and getting inspired by this tribute to the Belle Époque era and the spirit of the past.
Before dinner the group gathered in the villa’s blooming gardens, where everything was prepared for a traditional “Sabrage”. One of the guests faced the challenge and opened skilfully under the professional guidance of the master of ceremony a bottle of champagne with a sabre. Following the French habits, the beheaded head with cork and date of the ceremony was handed over to him as a sign of good luck. At the festive dinner, the excellent champagne accompaniment was thoughtfully coordinated with the menu and included a sensational “Diamant Brut” and “Diamant Rosé”, to accomplish a perfect finale of this “VIP Pommery Experience”.
After this unforgettable evening and with many new beautiful impressions in the luggage, the return journey to Germany was due the next day. At the farewell, plans had been made already to meet again soon and The Luxury Network Germany together with their event partners can look back to another successful event.
